My mother attended the Brigidine Convent as a boarder. This would have been in the period 1940 to about 1948 approximately. She would often talk about the experiences and I am hoping maybe to find contact with some of her old school mates.

Her name was Margaret Simpson. The family of George Simpson is an uncle. He raised his family with wife Evelyn and lived in Coonamble or Gulargambone. George Simpson died at the age of 75 in 1955 approximately. Actually his parents were pioneers in the district, so I have a strong connection to Coonamble.

I have enjoyed looking at your photos.

Congratulations on your excellent website ! My parents Mick and Ellen Fagan were from Coonamble and I found the photo of the Pages, and Leddens submitted by Peter Page (who I was in contact with many years ago in NZ)very interesting. I also enjoyed the school photos of our cousins, Kate and Lynette Firth and the WW2 photo of our uncle, Max Firth. I wonder if there will be any photos of McGills (going back to Lily Jane McGill who married Patrick Joseph Fagan) on your website?

Hey Sedg, it's been a while since I used your Guestbook, but I wanted to thank Theresa Reinhard's comments on her Gr Father as I am doing a story line on Coonamble Hotels for the Museum and I did have his name down as the builder of the Club House Hotel but no date or where he originated from. Thank you Sedg and thank you Theresa.

I am hoping you or your contributers might be able to help me- I had family in Coonamble in the 1870-80's that I am trying to find out more about.

George Creighton was a sawyer/carpenter from England- he married Esther Taylor (born in Millie near Narrabri) in 1875 and they had 5 children in Coonamble between 1877-1887: George Hector, Emily Jane, Edith, Charles R and Sarah. They lived mainly in an area called Merrri Merri Creek- which I have been unable to find. Other details of the family are scant, but daughter Edith married in Sydney in 1911, with both her parents being listed as deceased. The only other family link is I have found a George Hector in WW2, born in 1877 in Coonamble, but oddly his parents are listed as Charles and Kate Creighton of Coonamble...

I am hoping that someone out there might have information on Merri Merri Creek, or recognise the family - they have proved very hard to track down through official records, so I am very hopeful someone might know something.

I have my fingers crossed!

I thoroughly enjoyed browsing the photos on the website- it is a wonderful collection!
